STARTUGC™UGC MEASUREMENT

Measure creator content like a business system—not a vanity report

Creator marketing increasingly spans organic content, paid amplification, product pages, social commerce and repeat creator relationships. A useful measurement system should separate creative quality, distribution, commercial outcomes and long-term asset value.

As creator programs expand across teams and channels, the operating challenge is not only attribution. Brands also need consistent asset IDs, creator records, rights status, campaign ownership and comparable performance data.

1. Creative performance

  • Hook / first-frame hold
  • Average watch time and completion rate
  • Shares, saves and meaningful comments
  • Click-through rate where a clickable destination exists
  • Creative version, hook, creator and concept ID

2. Commercial performance

  • Attributed orders and revenue
  • Cost per acquisition
  • Return on ad spend for paid distribution
  • Revenue relative to total campaign cost
  • Average order value and contribution margin
  • New-customer vs returning-customer impact where available

3. Creator relationship performance

  • On-time delivery
  • Revision rate and reasons for revision
  • Brief adherence without losing authentic voice
  • Approval speed
  • Repeatability across concepts
  • Performance stability across multiple campaigns

4. Asset value

  • How many useful variations were captured from one production
  • Where the asset can legally and practically be repurposed
  • How long the rights period lasts
  • Whether the asset works organically, in paid media, on PDPs, in email or across multiple channels
  • Whether the creator supplied clean raw footage, alternate hooks or cutdowns where contracted

5. Track content at the asset level

Give every creator asset a consistent ID. Record creator, campaign, concept, hook, format, platform, posting date, paid-use status, rights expiry and performance metrics. Without asset-level naming, high-performing creative becomes difficult to identify and reuse.

6. Track the rights window beside performance

A winning asset is only useful while the brand has permission to use it. Store usage scope, territory, paid-media permission, creator-handle authorization and expiry beside the asset record so the team can scale a winner without losing track of the commercial terms.

Simple campaign economics

Start with creator/production cost + media spend + any direct campaign costs, then compare those against attributed revenue and gross profit. Avoid treating platform-reported ROAS as the only measure of creator value when an asset also creates organic reach, product-page proof or reusable creative.
